Piemonte Farm owners are Argentinean by birth and North
Carolinian by choice and always in love with bringing back ancient
skills and giving them a new life. They are deeply engaged in
infusing to their cheeses the flavors of their grandparents’ roots
from Spain and Italy. They strive in the revival of those traditions to
make authentic food and give real meaning to the word handmade.
Fabian is the heart and hands of Piemonte Farm. He is their
alchemist, he works magic with the yeasts, the cultures and deals
with what the environment sends to get the right conditions for
them to thrive and give them the beautiful breads and cheeses. He
is self taught baker and cheese maker, making raw milk cheeses
from their friend’s cow dairy farm, Gerringer Dairy.
Sandra loves to garden and cares for the orchard, garden, rabbits,
house and the family. She is the human connection between
Piemonte Farm and the farm patrons. She's in charge of
marketing, packaging, label design, delivering, shipping, social
media and sales of Piemonte Farm products.
You may recognize Fabian & Sandra from "The Farm Fairy." In
Summer 2014, they reinvented themselves as Piemonte Farm
and in Fall 2014 they moved to a farm in Greensboro to further
their dreams of starting a sheep dairy. They are still doing what
they love -- connecting people with great, fresh, healthy food,
grown and transformed by hand into bread, cheese, jams, jellies,
herbal blends, butter, and more.
Their artisan aged cheeses made with raw cow's milk are: Don
Agustin (a manchego Style Cheese), Don Gabino (an Alpine Italian
Cheese), Old Glencoe (an Old Fashioned American Farmhouse
Cheese), Italiano (a stronger Italian style cheese), and
Barncheese (a Dutch Style cheese). Piemonte also uses
pasteurized cow's milk to make mozzarella, ricotta, fromage
blanc, and cheese curds.
