About
The main estate vineyards, winery, event facilities and tasting room are located just 7 miles northeast of the Greensboro city limits in Haw River Valley wine country.

In 1992, Max Lloyd fell in love with fine wine while staying in Sonoma on business. His father and both grandfathers had made homemade wine and his family had always been into gardening and cooking, but this was his first experience with world-class European-style wine.

The decision was made to start a winery in 2001 and after searching dozens of pieces of land, the Grove Farm was purchased. Grapes were originally planted in the estate vineyards on April 6, 2002.  After Lloyd's retirement, the vineyards and winery were sold and gained new leadership in 2022.

Grapes are hand harvested and used for a limited production of 3000 cases of premium wine each year. Grove Winery specializes in growing and crafting exceptional European-style wines and is recognized as one of the most awarded wineries and estate vineyards on the East Coast. Since 2005, wines made by Grove Winery from locally grown grapes have won more than 200 medals in local and international competitions.

The Grove tasting room is open daily for tasting, shopping or simply a glass of wine on their patio overlooking Lake Cabernet.

Cheese Varieties
North Carolina cheeses are available for purchase in the Grove tasting room.

Other Products
Grove frequently hosts public events such as art classes, food rodeos, festivals, bike rides, and wine releases on their estate. Their award winning concert venue hosts concerts throughout the year.
